A very fast quench oil with an optimal cooling rate for low-alloyed and medium-alloyed tool steels. Maximum resilience and minimal distortion. Lire plus..
The AAA-DA Quench Oil is a fast quenching oil that is particularly suitable for hardening workpieces made of low and medium-alloy tool steels with a high surface-to-mass ratio (e.g. knife blades). It achieves a very fast cooling rate in the boiling phase and a very slow cooling rate in the martensitic transformation range (Ms-Mf). It is precisely this very slow cooling rate in the lower temperature range that significantly reduces the risk of distortion and cracking. At the same time, the rapid cooling in the upper temperature range guarantees complete hardening and maximum initial hardness.
This hardening oil is particularly suitable for larger blades with complex geometries that tend to warp when hardened. E.g. chef's knife blades. All low- and medium-alloy tool steels and those designated as oil hardeners can be hardened.
If mainly unalloyed and low-alloy tool steels are to be hardened, I recommend the hardening oil Durixol V35, which has an even faster quenching rate in the boiling phase. Also available here in the shop.
