A 22.5cm light workhorse with an Apex Ultra cutting edge, Damascus side layers and a Macassar ebony handle. Lire plus..
This 22.5cm light workhorse has a core layer made of Apex Ultra and side layers made of approx. 150 layers of Damascus steel.
The blade has a very strong taper. In the choil area it has a clear but not extreme wedge effect. The ability to cut increases significantly towards the tip. It has clear laser tendencies, particularly in the front half. The blade has a "German Walkschliff" in the back third, so the blade thickness decreases towards the back. Overall, the blade is characterized by the quadruple taper, which I like to use on my workhorses without forged skin. From the choil towards the tip, the thickest area of the blade (approx. 2/3 of the blade height) moves upwards towards the back. Furthermore, the convexity, the back strength and the thickness of the edge decrease significantly towards the tip. This results in a very aggressive cutting ability in the front half of the blade and significant power reserves and a moderate wedge effect the further you move towards the choil.
The knife is suitable for all cutting techniques.
The handle is made of Macassar ebony with a reindeer horn spacer. A special feature is the tang that runs completely through the handle and is riveted to the end of the handle with a decorative puddle iron rivet.
