A powerful workhorse with a strong taper and a desert ironwood handle Read more..
This powerful workhorse has a pronounced taper towards the tip. This results in a very high cutting ability in the front 2/3 of the blade and a strong wedge effect in the choil area. The blade has a convex geometry and the profile is suitable for all cutting techniques. The high blade weight also supports the cut.
The 1.2419.05 with 65 hrc has a high wear resistance combined with good toughness.
The handle is made of desert ironwood with and pin made of reindeer antlers.
Due to the high blade thickness in the choil area in combination with the handle material, the knife has a relatively high overall weight and lies "full" in the hand. At the same time, the knife does not appear heavy or sluggish due to the optimal distribution of mass.
Of course, the blank was forged with optimal temperature control and forming and then subjected to extensive heat treatment (including deep-freeze treatment after hardening). This guarantees an optimally adjusted structure and extremely finely distributed carbides.
