A workhorse with a strong taper and a complex geometry. Read more..
This 23 cm workhorse has a very strong taper and a complex geometry. The blade is made with "Walkschliff". In the coil area, the blade has a strong crowning and the greatest blade thickness is about two-thirds the blade height. The crowning decreases further towards the tip and the largest blade thickness moves further towards the back of the blade. The tip is ground very thin. As a result, the blade has very high cutting abilities in the front two-thirds and has a very strong wedge effect in the coil area.
The knife is equally suitable for all cutting techniques. But it plays out its real strength in the push cut.
The cutting edge of this knife consists of the special melt ApexUltra. This steel has a very good combination of wear resistance, cutting edge stability and suitability for finely ground cutting edges.
Of course, the blank was forged with optimal temperature control and forming and then subjected to extensive heat treatment (including deep-freeze treatment after hardening). This guarantees an optimally adjusted structure and extremely finely distributed carbides.
