A 27 cm integral laser with a 10-steel Damascus blade. Read more..
The blade of this noble 27 cm integral laser is made of damascus steel, which I have named "Across the Garden". Because for this pattern welded steel I have combined all the suitable knife steels that my stock has to offer. The blade is characterized by a high hardness of approx. 66hrc (incl. deep freeze treatment) and a very high wear resistance. Of course, the damascus steel was welded with the complete exclusion of oxygen and forged at the optimum temperature and deformation.
The blade has a subtle relief etching.
The knife is a thoroughbred laser. The front third of the blade in particular is ground very thin and has a slight flex. Accordingly, the knife must be handled with care. The blade has an extremely good cutting ability. The cutting edge is ground so thin over its entire length that it bends over the fingernail. The cutting edge has a larger flat spot, the tip is slightly below center. Despite the flat spot, the blade is suitable for all cutting techniques.
The handle is made of oak from a medieval/early modern age well. The pin is made of nickel silver.
