Desert Ironwood, high contrast premium blocks

Desert Ironwood is native to the southern United States and northern Mexico. It is a very heavy and hard wood, which is nevertheless easy to process and polish. This makes it one of the most desirable woods for knife handles.

The blocks offered here have a strong light-dark contrast and a particularly beautiful coloring.

After fine sanding or polishing, desert ironwood should not be treated with natural oils such as linseed oil, otherwise it tends to darken considerably. I recommend finishing with Tru-Oil.
